DHCP Authiorization troubleshoting Windows 2003/2008

Nowadays often DHCP has to be migrated on new servers, sometimes this should be tricky most times for a wrong procedure so here some steps:

1. dump existing dhcp configuration on source server:
open elevated command prompt and type
netsh dhcp server \\ export [ip scope]

2. unauthorize server on source server
3. stop dhcp server service and disable it from autostart
4. install new role in the server and do not configure.
5. import configuration in new server:
netsh dhcp server %computername% import
6. start server
7. authorize
8. make service DHCP auto start

if some troubles come up, like "unable to autorize" or "server already authorized" you should retry the authorization with this useful window:

Outlook Favorites missing and troubleshooting

If your outlook 2007 or 2010 do not show all the favorites try to reset the functionality
outlook.exe /resetnavpane

Else look at this file:
c:\Users\\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Outlook\outlook.xml

There's should be some strange character inside.

Exchange Activesync not working

I Experiencing a problem on some Android devices, the setup of a mailbox with Activesync do not work. This behavior is caused by wrong permissions on the affected account which is migrated from a windows NT/2000/2003 active directory system to a 2008 one and the account was also a domain admin.
The security are changed by a process on the PDC every hour and the account miss the “inerithance” flag on the security.
This article describe better the behavior:

http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/magazine/2009.09.sdadminholder.aspxx

And this is the solution to let the configuration works on Android device:
By default members of an AD protected group like domain admins or enterprise admin cannot use microsoft activesync with a exchange 2010 server. They get a error like this: “Result: ActiveSync encountered a problem on the server. Support code: 0×85010014″.
Solution 1: Remove the protected group memberships for this account, more information about protected groups can be found here.
Solution 2: Goto active directory users and computers, turn on advanced features on the view menu. Go to the user account, security tab and tick the advanced button. After that you have to enable Include inheritable permissions from this object’s parent. Now activesync will work.
Note: some rules apply every hour and will disable inheritance so you have to activesync within this time otherwise you have to repeat the step in Solution 2. When get a other device to activesync with you also have to repeat this action.

I had a problem on a W8 workstation and a dfs share, the user has also activated the offline file function.
The user still get on file list and dir only the directory available offline.

New DWORD
Name RequireSecureNegotiate
Value 0

As per http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2686098

2.
Disable offline files
add this registry key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Csc\Parameters
Name FormatDatabase
New REG_DWORD
Value 1

Rboot
Enable Oflline file

As per  http://pickettsproblems.wordpress.com/2013/07/10/windows-domain-dfs-namespace-access-denied-using-fqdn-access-allowed-using-server-unc-paths-directly/

Adobe Reader MSI

Frustrated about the adobe reader msi download ? you don't want to register to get the distribution?
go to: ftp://ftp.adobe.com/pub/adobe/reader/win and download what you need. Version 11.0 is downloadable in all languages, the updates are only availables in some languages.

Also you can download the exe and then run:
AdbeRdr1010_en_US.exe.exe -nos_o"C:\Folder" -nos_ne
